This Town is a sparkly town…
So, a quick post!
My dah-lings, I need a little help!
My Beloved and I are off to Las Vegas at the end of the month (yes, yes, I know it’s an expensive weekend with Halloween and all) with our BFF Couple that we try and travel with at least once a year! It’s our first time leaving the airport in Vegas as we have had layovers there but never an opportunity to breathe the desert air. We aren’t huge gamblers (think quarter slots or less). I have a tentative itinerary mapped out. See what you think and offer any suggestions below in comments or email me at [email protected]!
First, I wanted Beloved and I to renew our vows in Vegas at one of those little chapels. You can buy a package where Elvis walks you down the aisle while crooning ‘Love Me Tender’ to you. Or you can have Elvis and a couple of hula girls doing a Blue Hawaii bit. OR, the most intriguing, you can have a mini Elvis be your officiant. Apparently mini Elvis is not a walk in situation, he costs more and you need an appointment in advance. Anyway, everyone was sort of a luke-warm on that at best so I’ve got it on my vision board for a future trip.
Here’s what I got:
Day One: Friday
Land at airport, meet up with BFFs, Uber to hotel on The Strip (Beloved put the kabosh on a limo since the hotel is only about 8 miles away on the strip), early lunch somewhere quick (taking suggestions), Bestie and I are heading to Caesar’s Qua Spa on a day pass to relax, that evening we are eating at Catch at The Aria, which seems to be uber scenic for pics and Japanese influenced cuisine. Afterward a little nightcap, possibly some late night gambling. I should mention men are left to their own devices during spa time and may go to the pool, nap, gamble, hit up a brew pub or ride the monorail up and down (Beloved is very excited about this idea).
Day Two: Saturday
I am getting up to do the Princess Diana exhibit by myself. This is POOL DAY! We will need a quick breakfast (???) and then to the pool by 11:00 am, otherwise they have the right to give away our reserved (and paid for, which I do not understand) pool villa! I am utterly pale. Tan time for me in the desert will be from 6:45 am-7:00 am and that’s if the sun isn’t up yet. So I need serious cover. A villa allows those of us with milky white skin that turns into a shade I like to call ‘lobster burning in hell’ to go to the pool without bursting into flames! We’ll be headed to do the later show of Cirque’s Beatles LOVE. We have a hard to get reservation at Vanderpump Paris. I’m sorta trying to decide if we need Catch and Paris? Maybe just one. After LOVE, we plan on doing a little drinking and gambling until the wee hours (you know midnight). Would love some suggestions on your favorite cocktails and where to find them.
Day Three: Sunday
First on the agenda is The Crab Brunch at Bacchanal at Caesar’s at 1:00 pm, by then we should be running on sunglasses, Alka Seltzer and caffeine. Today is all about gambling, window shopping (there is an SJP store in the Shops at Bellagio, Babies! This is not a shoe drill!), eating and whatever else strikes our fancy. This will include a nap. At around 5:30 we are having dinner (yeah, early bird special time) at Nacho Daddy, which we are all sorta excited about. After that at 7:30 we are headed to The Neon Museum for (possibly) their immersive exhibit Jackpot! ands then (definitely) to the guided Neon Boneyard Tour. We are divided on the exhibit as it uses some strobe and blinking lights. I’m not willing to risk anyone having a seizure or migraine. If you have been, how much and how long does this go on? As you know from other posts, I have some migraine triggers. Like I know EVERYONE wants us to go to that grocery store art installation but my sister with the migraine issues had to leave really quickly due to the lighting sitch. So, yes or no on Jackpot!? Last night to hoot and holler!
Day Four: Monday
And we’re off to our respective homes!
Any thoughts? Please share!
Thanks, gentle readers! Until next time….
